Is it sensible to lower the heat pump by 2 degrees from 10 PM to 5 AM (Monday to Friday) and from 11 PM to 8 AM (Saturday/Sunday)?

In my opinion not, as a heat pump is extremely slow until it reaches the required temperatures.
With us, the heat pump runs continuously and I lower it at most when I leave the house for several days.

It is not sensible at 5, when it is usually still very cold the pump heats up again, so rather counterproductive. If nighttime setback, then rather until 9 o'clock, but in the end it probably brings little.

Night setback is a relic from the past and rather pointless with modern low-temperature heating systems.

So I have also been thinking about this for the past few days: lowering the room temperature at night is indeed not really feasible/sensible but: at night it is currently, for example, a few degrees colder than during the day. As a result, the flow temperature would be higher at night. So the pump has to work hard at night first. With a night setback, one could counteract this. What do you think about that?

So there are probably a few people who do this with air-to-water heat pumps. They then run a slightly elevated flow temperature during the daytime and use the building mass as a heat storage. Sometimes this is deliberately timed to when the photovoltaic system potentially generates yield. But whether this really brings savings, I cannot judge. If you want to know for sure, you probably have to conduct a self-experiment yourself.
