Hello dear ones,

we are currently in the process of realizing our dream of a house with a prefabricated house provider. Now we have noticed that mold is forming in some places on the upper floor and we would like to have your assessment of whether this is normal and what the procedure should be?

The screed was laid just over two weeks ago and the underfloor heating has been running for 1 week now. We ventilate twice daily as we were instructed.

I have already reported the whole thing to the construction manager, he wants to eliminate the mold next week. I assume he wants to wipe it away.

Regards Tobi

I have to say that the house had to be set up over two days because one of the three trucks broke down, and on the second day of setup, it rained cats and dogs.

It's nothing unusual. Especially during the heating phase of the screed, mold formation can occur due to the enormous moisture.

I have no idea about timber framing and am glad to build solid when I see something like this. Is that really normal?

and is wiping away also sufficient for the remedy? We were already aware in advance that slight mold formation could occur due to the extreme humidity, but the fact that it takes on such proportions worries us a little.
