Is it sensible to place a bathtub under a skylight?

Hey,

first of all, have fun building.
The roof window idea is nice, maybe you would also like one with a fixed segment.
So-called knee wall windows.

Of course, condensation is the biggest fear for the home builder, but it depends on roof insulation/exterior walls etc.

We have 2 roof windows mounted on a 25-degree roof! No water, because the bathroom is at least 24 degrees.

Cleaning: sure, one should remember that such a thing can eventually become a trap. Getting into the tub is okay, but sitting on a stool in the tub? Help no, that’s suicide.

It also depends on how often you take a bath! Our tub is simply too big... that’s why it is used less than expected!

Do you have underfloor heating?
Additional heater or only towel warmer... that would have to be clarified concerning the distribution of the heat.

I think there will be many more tips... my advice... do it, a bit of luxury is necessary

Hey, thanks already for all the tips

Regarding the height, sure, you probably have to move in a bit then. But I would find a small shelf on the edge quite practical anyway, or you could put up a small wall, so from my point of view that would be the smaller problem. I also wanted to look around to see if I can find [Musterhäuser] that have the tub like that, to get a feel for the right height.

Regarding cleaning, I’ll have to see how to manage that without injuring myself, thanks for the tip. But I think that should be manageable. And I’m not really a fan of cleaning anyway, so that balancing act won’t happen weekly anyway

Underfloor heating is definitely planned, but no additional heating sources otherwise.

then depending on the size of the bathroom, the heating capacity could be barely sufficient.

Oh, really? Is the underfloor heating that weak there?

Yes, but then there will simply be additional wall heating. It's all no problem

Advantage: If you forget to close the window and a storm comes, the water can drain away directly.
