Is it possible to have a window in the guest WC/guest room despite the garage?

Hello everyone,

is there a way to still place a window at the top (kind of like a light strip) on the wall of a room/guest WC that borders the garage? Since we are planning with a basement, the house and therefore this room would be higher than the garage, and so such a narrow window would be possible, right? Windows at the top or bottom of the plan are not possible due to other adjacent rooms.

What am I misunderstanding, or why are all rooms adjacent to the garage planned without windows in the floor plans?

Has anyone already implemented something similar?

What does the basement have to do with it? Because no window fits properly. Where should it go if the garage is 2.5m high?

Because the masonry high basement protrudes 50-80 cm above the ground and thus also this room 50-80 cm above the garage? That means garage top edge 2.50 meters and the room at 2.50 meters + X. And at the height of this X a window.

Why don’t you write that in your post then? My crystal ball didn’t say anything about a high basement ;) How much X remains as window area (after deducting the frame)? Is it even worth it? Basically, of course, it’s feasible. But it’s not the normal case.

Sorry, I had the misconception that basements are always raised basements :)

This is how it is planned:

Whether it’s worth it: I think so, since this said room (more like a guest WC) is supposed to be placed in the middle of the house. Such a narrow window should be sufficient there. The alternative would be to build an "air gap" between the house and garage in order to also equip the entire right side of the house with windows. However, this gap is often discouraged here in the forum.

Link the thread with your floor plan yourself, I am too busy right now. That way it is easier to give advice than just with such a snippet of a question.
