Is it allowed to remove an asbestos roof yourself?

We want to strip the house ourselves before the demolition company comes and "only" has to remove construction debris. This also includes the asbestos roof. Of course, we want to save money, especially since companies charge well for an asbestos roof.

Honestly, the roof wasn't expensive. - Knowledgeable - Scaffolding - PPE with an FFP2 mask is not enough - Packaging - Tools You somehow add all that up and it costs. The handling, the disposal, etc. The panels can't be put into the BigBag via a chute, the BigBag can't go on a trailer. Are they even allowed to be transported like that? I don't think so. Our BigBags were standing there for days. If you want to comply with everything, you won't come much cheaper. You can gut the building yourself, you just need a lot more time than a company. Besides, I would have removed much more and sorted more precisely. Every move is precise. Our demolition company has their own crews for gutting. It just looked effortless.

Why doesn't a Big Bag fit on a trailer?
At our landfill, there are special packages for asbestos. You can pack it in there and drop it off. Every "normal citizen" is allowed there as well. They are flexible, so their size is ultimately determined by the size of the plates. If the plates fit on the trailer, there is no problem getting them there with a trailer.
Companies will of course tell you something different; they want to make money.

By the way, we also gutted ourselves (although no asbestos, but plenty of mineral wool). For many building materials, you can still find buyers through classifieds who dismantle themselves.

Big Bags are larger than 1x1m because the plates must be whole.
Also the weight
What is the trailer allowed to carry? What can the car tow?
Partial filling more Big Bags
More trips
Higher costs

It is not normal rubble. Raw, heavy eggs

Every trailer also has an area of more than 1x1 m. The plates do not have to be whole when handed in, otherwise one could not hand in damaged plates either. But you can also let them stick out over the back of the trailer. Weight is of course a question that needs to be clarified. By the way, normal Big Bags have exactly an area of 1x1 m, only those for asbestos plates are larger.
