Hello everyone,

from my research on the internet and conversations with demolition companies, I am not really any wiser: Is it allowed to remove asbestos tiles yourself and dispose of them properly? Of course, the prerequisite is that you comply with the safety regulations (mask, [AsbestBags], protective suit).

Does anyone here have experience?

Theoretically, private individuals are allowed to dispose of bonded asbestos such as in roof panels themselves. The persons must be knowledgeable - whether a YouTube tutorial is sufficient is questionable. Necessary protective equipment. Necessary tools. The battens underneath must be vacuumed if I remember correctly. This cannot be done with a common household vacuum cleaner. Necessary packaging. Practically: construction site safety, fall protection, lifting aid, persons without fear of heights, knowledgeable persons. Transport and handling of the Bigbags. We handed it over to a specialist company. Compared to some other items, it was done cheaply, quickly, and efficiently. Just the question of how the BigBags should get to the landfill? We had 6 of them.

I believe that it must also be proven that the panels have been disposed of properly. We are currently doing quite a bit ourselves, but the disposal of these panels is not included.

Containers for asbestos can be ordered from the container service.

Are you sure that is allowed? According to demolition companies, it is not. They even send their people to a two-day training course to get the "asbestos certificate." The person just stands around looking silly, but the main thing is that they can show the certificate if there is supposedly an inspection. But maybe these companies just say that so they get the asbestos contract...

To my knowledge, yes, but you must be knowledgeable, even as a private person. I meant, yes, YouTube will not be enough. If you are knowledgeable, you should know whether you are allowed to or not. It is controlled and residents apparently like to report. Let it be done. Why do you want to do it yourself specifically?
