Why, they live next door in my line of argument, because of the children.

Sure, living in the city is also a good option in old age, there are countless of those. Here, financial concerns are in the background, and from that, necessities may arise that do not necessarily have to correspond to wishes. The thing with the nursing home place, etc., is also not predictably simple. He knows how it will go, what will happen....?? At least I have no idea and try to take it into account as best as possible in my decisions. At some point, it may really no longer be a question of what I want, but what is possible. Uffff.....Topic change.....I'll make myself a nice cappuccino

My mother-in-law believes that too, but nobody tells her that she and most of us won't live to be 80 years old.

There are family branches that tend to live longer than others, but who among us will count among the last 2.5% of the German population who live beyond 80.

do you have a Google search phrase that leads me to the statistics supporting this statement?

According to the Federal Statistical Office, 57% of all people who died in Germany in 2019 were 80 years old or older. 6% were 95 years old or older. I think you misinterpreted something...

Statistically, that is not possible if we consider our birth years and the average age at death. For example, I was born in '81.

The average age at death of 80 only applies to the current cohorts and not to us.
