Is building camera surveillance allowed?

So basically, you are allowed to film however you want on a piece of land. If the area is publicly accessible (such as a driveway), it must be indicated. Surveillance in private property does not have to be announced. So you don't have to inform the meter reader from the waterworks that there is a camera hanging in the hallway. However, you do have to inform your cleaning staff, because employee protection may apply there again...

Whether a construction contractor can refuse to fulfill a contract because cameras are installed on the construction site... is an interesting question!

Hi,

I disagree with you. You may surveil within your own house as much as you like, but everyone affected by it must be informed and ultimately agree to it; see the FAZ from September 22, 2014, under the keywords "Law" and "private surveillance."

Or did I misunderstand you?

Hi,

why always these theoretical discussions about it? Just ask the shell builders very nicely if they mind. If the camera is placed far enough away to capture the entire house in the frame, in a time-lapse film (so only one picture taken every 30 seconds) there is absolutely no way to see any people. Maybe as a shadow, but nothing more.

Just ask nicely and that's it...

Best regards,

Andreas

no. I just have a different opinion than your untraceable source.

I found the source, but in my opinion misinterpreted it.

There is definitely a barrier inside the house, and outside the house it must somehow be recognizable that it is private property. In most new housing developments, this should be fairly easily recognizable through hedges, fences, or other borders, unlike private forest.

I found the text in the Frankfurter Rundschau. But no article from the FAZ.
