Hello everyone,
I want to install a steel door in the garage, but it does not lead into the living area; it leads into the technical room where the heat pump is located.
There is no access from this technical room to the rest of the adjacent residential unit.
According to the plan, however, the technical room is part of the living space.
The wall (inside the garage) into which the door is to be installed is therefore the exterior wall of the residential building.
At least this wall has been insulated with 20cm of wood fiber insulation, mind you within the garage. The wall construction of the house outwardly is 10cm CLT solid wood + 20cm wood fiber insulation.
I hope you understand what I mean
Attached is a section of the construction plan.
My questions:
1. Do I need a T30 fire protection door here? I live in Rhineland-Palatinate in case that is relevant.
2. Can I use a corner frame here through the 20cm insulation (marked in red) into the 10cm solid wood, or do I have to use a block frame?
Best regards
Tito
