Is a solar power system worth it for us?

Hello,

we are currently considering whether to get a solar system. I have already noticed that there are different opinions on this, but an individual factor also plays a role. Apparently, it does not pay off for us, or I have a thinking error.

For us, the situation would currently look as follows:
-Offer solar system 5kwp with everything just under 10k
-> 500€ annual depreciation
- Interest for 10k: 100€

---> 600€ costs/year

Income:
With 5kwp, apparently about 4500kwh are generated.
Currently, we consume 1500kwh annually, but so far there are only two of us.

So I roughly save 800kwh x 0.3€ = 240€ for own consumption and get 3700kwh x 0.08€ = 300€ feed-in tariff.
So that makes 540€ on the income side.

Hard to estimate is the share of own consumption that could be covered by the solar system. We are not at home during the day and mainly use devices in the evening, which is why I find 800 of 1500kwh rather optimistic.

If now not all new buildings around us had solar systems, I would not think about it further, but maybe my thoughts are not correct?
What do the solar system advocates say?

Thanks for your assessment!

That is the mistake. 10kWp should cost around 11k net. Then the calculation looks different. 4,500 kWh sounds low as a yield.

The offer also seems very expensive to me. For us, about 11K€ for 9.8 KWp. I also think it is a matter of perspective. When I see our consumption in the Sunny Home Manager and what we use ourselves or feed in, I am glad to have the thing.

Get a better offer and the invoice will be correct. What is the roof orientation? You achieve more self-consumption with an east-west system than with a south-facing one.

I always thought solar systems were for hot water?

Thank you for your answers!

Due to the small roof area (and roof windows), we can’t install much more than the 5kwp. I estimated the corresponding 4800kwh from the internet. The roof faces south, so it’s worse for self-consumption, but maybe better for feed-in than the 4800?.

I will definitely get another offer. But travel, scaffolding?, electrician... costs for 5kwp are the same as for 10kwp and labor hours around Munich are expensive.
