Is a second electricity meter for the heat pump not necessary at all for BAFA?

Hello,

we are installing a heat pump that is to be subsidized.
A Viessmann VITOCAL 250-A

This already has an “Energy Management System that provides transparency in energy consumption and costs.”

Is that sufficient for BAFA funding?
Can I also use the special heat pump tariffs with it? Or rather not?
The electrician wanted to apply for a meter from the grid operator, but that is not necessary. I can also have my own installed, right?

Heat pump tariffs (which rarely pay off) are only available with a real second meter from the network operator. In 2020, in old buildings it was completely irrelevant how much electricity the heat pump consumed. However, I do not know if that has changed. The conditions can be read well (and even understandably).

ok, this extra tariff doesn't interest me that much.
More important is the demand. Will it go through with this? BAFA funding?

As already mentioned above, the pdf with the funding conditions can be found quite quickly. It is also searchable. I am too lazy to do it for you now, but I BELIEVE that nothing has to be measured. There is also no control instrument at all. You get the money after you have uploaded the invoices. No one can wait another year to find out how high the consumption ended up being...

I currently have the same issue. The BAFA is not interested in the 2nd meter. What matters to them is only that the application is submitted before the execution of all work related to the replacement. In our case, this also included the disposal of the old oil tanks. My electrician also advised against the 2nd meter for the heat pump tariff. Firstly, it’s only 4 cents per kWh, and then there is a forced one-hour shutdown three times a day during peak load times. Nice, when three people want to take a shower after work in the evening...
