Is a building services room possible under the roof?

To sum it up briefly: Physically, there is nothing against putting the stuff under the roof? Provided it is a concrete ceiling?

We have our gas boiler and storage tank on the 2nd floor (under the roof). On a concrete ceiling. There are no problems there. Just wondering if that also makes sense for a heat pump. Because then there are longer distances to the outdoor unit.

That is true on one hand; on the other hand, you already have a vent (at least) that runs from bottom to top. A clever planner can surely integrate making the shaft a bit larger to also transport heating water...
