Hello everyone,
from our floor plan design it has emerged that a beam must run directly above our terrace door (lift-and-slide door) that has to support the interior wall of the children's room above (see picture; the dashed line is supposed to be the beam; where the terrace door is now, a 3-meter-wide sliding door is to be installed, 2.26 meters high).
I understand that a structural engineer has to calculate this. I am interested in whether this is basically possible and whether an integrated roller shutter box is possible here. As I saw on a few construction sites yesterday of other shell constructions, the lintel above the window opening extends down to the underside of the concrete ceiling of the upper floor. Where is the roller shutter box supposed to go then? And where could the beam be accommodated in addition? It would have to rest on the lintel of the window.
Is my floor plan even feasible?
