Absolutely necessary insurances as the owner of an owner-occupied property:
- Residential building
- Household contents
- Liability
Now the exciting question:
Do I need a building and landowner liability insurance?
What I have found out so far:
The violation of traffic safety obligations is also covered by the normal private liability insurance. So things like not gritting, or someone trips on my step at the entrance.
What about roof tiles that fly off in a storm and hit someone on the head / a car - are those covered?
Literally from Gothaer, for example:
"Insured for the ... properties and plots is the statutory liability a) from the violation of traffic safety obligations owed here (e.g., structural maintenance, lighting, cleaning, gritting, and snow removal on sidewalks)."
Yes, I will also call the respective insurances and ask ;) but I do not want to make dozens of calls.
How is it with yours?
