My house is 70 years old, with thick walls made of brick. One side - west-facing - is nicely decorated with motifs and faces directly onto the street: external insulation is only possible to a limited extent (a few centimeters). We share 2 walls with the neighbors, the fourth side is free. There is a basement that is about 1.5m deep in the ground. Part of the house lies directly on the ground, without a basement and insulation. The whole building is damp: the moisture comes from the side and from below into the basement and moves towards the ground floor. The windows are old. I want to insulate this house from the outside. What material should I use? What should I do about the moisture beforehand? Thank you very much!
