Hello,
today I learned that for our new single-family house, two electricity meters are to be installed soon:
One for general household electricity and
one for heating electricity for the heat pump.
The latter is to be installed by our electrician because he believes that heating electricity is cheaper than electricity for other consumption.
Unfortunately, there is no cheap heating electricity in our town, and I want to transfer my EON electricity contract concluded at Media Markt with 30 cents/kWh to the new house and use it to bill both household and heating electricity.
According to EON, I can only bill one meter under this contract.
A photovoltaic system is planned to be installed in the next 5 years. At the latest then, I will need a second meter.
Therefore my question:
Is it better to have only one meter installed for current needs?
Or should the second meter already be installed for future photovoltaic use, which will then just be idle for the first few years?
Are only the 20 euro meter rental fees per year applicable for such an idle second meter, or am I obliged to sign a separate electricity contract for such a meter, which would then involve a monthly basic fee?
Unfortunately, I received what felt like dozens of different answers to these questions today.
