Hello everyone,
in our new house (currently in the shell construction phase) we have also planned a fireplace. The chimney has a fresh air supply (Schiedel Absolut), which we would also like to use for our "desired fireplace."
Even though the fireplace will come later, we would like to lay the fresh air supply today at the later location into the floor (into the screed), as this seems to work reasonably well with flat ducts.
Now to my problem, see picture:
Path 1: would be the direct route, only one "bend," but we would then have to connect to the "short" side of the fresh air supply. I don't know how that would work...
Path 2: would be the long route, 2 "bends," but I reach the "wide" side, where I expect significantly more air to come in.
Explanation of the picture:
- red box = fireplace
- X = center, that's where the fresh air has to go
- fresh air duct = short side 10 cm, long side 23 cm (according to the internet)
Do you have any idea? What would be your solution?
