Hi guys,

I have a comparatively small problem. I have a sink with an installed eccentric rod drain valve and overflow. Now I would like to install a different valve, but unfortunately I don’t know which one is installed here! After dismounting the siphon and the rod itself, I’m hesitant to go further. “Light” turning on the lower part didn’t help, now my question is more whether I can turn it firmly without destroying it (using pliers and such) or if I need to consider other things?!

It should be mentioned that my plumbing knowledge is limited to Google, YouTube and learning by doing, but before I start hammering on it, I would like to be sure that I won’t break anything. The sink is supposed to remain intact

If you look at the water outlet from above, there is usually a screw or a nut in the form of a sleeve.... unscrew it and everything will fall out. If necessary, post a picture of where the water flows in.

Moin Moin

There is no screw or sleeve there.
Simply unscrew/rotate the lower part. Hold the upper part if it rotates.

Since the WT has an overflow, please also reinstall a drain valve with overflow or one that cannot be closed.

SHAME ON MY HEAD. Of course, there is no screw there, Olli is right. If it’s going to be removed anyway, you can’t really damage anything except the washbasin.

Hello,

Thank you all. Then I can confidently get started on it.
This part will be used:
so exactly the version that BOB described with the long screw in between.

As far as I have read, it is suitable for both variants and the overflow can also drain.
Thank you very much

Regards

How now with a screw....ok, thought I was wrong because normally there isn't one on the washbasin....so with rod drives....With cable-operated ones, there are some installed.

Doesn't matter, the main thing is you have it.
