The general contractor commissioned the electrician; both are basically working on the same side. Since the general contractor is not an electrician/expert in this field, he wishes for the electrician to carry out the acceptance of the electrical installation accordingly. It is somewhat more inconvenient for the painter because the electrician will have completed all his services, and the painter will therefore have to remove the cover plates and switches, although he can also simply tape them off if necessary.
I will then, as recommended, actually only visually inspect the electrical installation for defects, have the measurement report handed over to me as proof that all sockets work, and then sign the acceptance report with the electrician.
