Dear forum members,
I have a few initial questions about building a house...
About us, we are female 24 years old and male 26 years old, unmarried and childless. We currently live in a rental apartment (approx. 100 sqm, 560€ warm rent). My boyfriend is still in training but will earn about 2200€ net from March 2018. As for me, I have been trained for 6 years and am in a permanent employment. I earn about 1600€ per month.
We want to convert a barn on my father-in-law's property into a residential house... but we do not plan to get married.
I also do not want to pay 'rent' to my boyfriend, but rather contribute to the loan repayments when the time comes. How can something like that be best arranged?
I would like to know how I can best protect myself contractually in case of a separation? Marriage is not planned, at least for now.
I would also like to mention that my boyfriend's father is a trained bricklayer and would pay for the shell construction. A lot could be done on the house by ourselves.
Thank you very much :)
