Hello everyone,

We had an induction cooktop installed and both of us react quite strongly to the magnetic field. Both my wife and I feel the magnetic field during operation, which manifests as a pressure in the head. We have now looked at other induction cooktops and with those it is less, but still sometimes noticeable for us. Now we are considering switching to a regular cooktop. What is your opinion on this? Generally, I find induction very practical, but in the long run, it is too critical for me if we react so sensitively to it.

What exactly do you expect now? If the induction hob doesn’t suit you, then get rid of it and have one installed that doesn’t give you headaches. What good does it do you to know that I have no problem with it?

How is one supposed to test that beforehand?

If it really depends on the magnetic field, use gas or electric. If it depends on the noise, test it at a specialist shop. If it only shows up in the long term, there is no test beforehand.

With which sense do you feel the magnetic field like that? Is it similar for you as it is with homing pigeons?

I would advise you to try a different set of pots. Some of my cheap pots make an absolutely terrible noise, it goes right through your bones.

I just replaced a glass-ceramic electric cooktop with a glass-ceramic electric cooktop. I have not switched to induction. In my view, it is still possible to cook well with it.

Induction is not a must for tasty dishes ...
