Hello dear forum, I need help. I have already used the search, but found no (current) answer(s) :)

It is about the selection of our interior landing staircase. The standard here is a two-stringer staircase. It would now be possible, as we also like it, to switch to a wooden stringer staircase (without risers).

Are there any experiences with the differences? Or is it simply a matter of personal taste? I remember my grandmother’s wooden staircase that always creaked at a certain spot :) We somehow find the wooden stringer staircase to feel "warmer" in terms of living comfort. We would like it in white and wood.

Regarding the price difference, we unfortunately do not yet have an offer, but we assume that the standard two-stringer staircase would be cheaper. I would appreciate experiences. Either about the type of staircase, personal decision or also about the price (surcharge). Thank you.

I have spent a long time dealing with the stair topic (but that was a while ago). Neither of them creak, although the stringer stairs (single or double stringer) sound a bit hollow when walked on. It really depends on the surroundings what will fit or look better. Often these stairs pass through a window, which for me would already be a no-go, but here a stringer stair would look better than a beam stair.

That will mainly be the preference of a significantly thicker wallet, as it is a considerably more complex structure to manufacture stably. If you are actually only 33 years old (21 at registration 12 years ago), this will "not be your last house." In that case, you can afford to listen to Pareto when it comes to perfection ;-)

We just made the decision regarding our staircase yesterday.
The standard for us is also a two-stringer staircase, but we would have actually preferred a steel-stringer staircase or at least a saddle-mounted steel-stringer staircase.
However, since changing the type of staircase would cost us around 10,000 euros extra, we are content with upgrading the railing and the steps.
Small addition: For us, it is not a landing staircase, but a double quarter-turn staircase.

Very nice. I love my double-stringer staircase. Airy, open, and with plenty of light passage.

We have double stringer, also in the standard, I was overjoyed about that. I find the stringer staircase old-fashioned. Finished.
