In which season is a cellar expansion sensible?

Hello everyone,

our house will be finished in about 4 weeks, then we should move in. Basically, the basement should also be developed.

But when should that be done?

Now, before moving in, to possibly avoid dirt in the new house, or only in autumn/winter?

What makes more sense when considering moisture?

With the humid weather now, you get more moisture into the cold basement, right?

We have a concrete basement, black foil is already in.

So insulation would have to go in, 2 rooms with underfloor heating and then screed.

So we had the screed for the basement poured together with the screed for the rest of the house. We did not want to have the screed in the basement installed at a later date because this would reintroduce moisture into the already inhabited house, and the floor could not be walked on again for several days. The basement itself is still damp anyway; according to our building expert, it can take up to two years for the construction moisture to disappear from the concrete basement.
