thank you for the answers! I have looked at the crossbars - those will probably be the ones. The doors will only be used when we are already at home, so first unlocked from the inside; the bar does not bother there.

Another thing... would you additionally secure a 40x40cm window? (triple glazed with mushroom head lock)

For this size, no. Burglars with trained little monkeys or small-statured accomplices are, in my opinion, not the norm in reality ;-)
