Just as a side note..... Saying the named portals "cost nothing" is not entirely correct. They usually finance themselves either directly through commissions or through what we might call backend services.

Company "A", which owns several insurance companies, has noticed that potential customers search for information on the internet. Now "A" creates a comparison tool for free financial comparison. The normal standard tariffs of groups "A" to "H" are integrated here, and under a fantasy name a special tariff from "A" is tailored and also sent into the race.
Who will probably win the majority of all comparisons??
Who benefits from this? Right, the one who happens to have the special tariff "A" in their pocket, and just like that the max profit is secured through the comparison portal. In the few cases where "A" special does not win, the inquiry is forwarded and a commission is earned anyway.
Therefore, just a tip on the side – a thorough look at the imprint is useful. Then ask uncle Google a bit about the person and at the latest then you will realize that in many cases a broker or a group of covert operators runs the page.
This does not have to be the case always – but often it is.

Hello,

why is the builder's liability insurance already necessary from the purchase of the plot?

Thanks and regards
Herbert

Hello,

that would interest me as well. I assume that it makes sense. In our case, the property is still built with a house, which is supposed to be demolished in the next few weeks. Do I need to insure the house additionally? The previous owner canceled the house insurance on 15.09.12. What should I take out to have insurance coverage if, for example, the demolition house burns down and neighboring houses, etc. are damaged?

Thank you!

Well, exactly because of this statement (in a quote in a later thread) I was looking for this thread here. And I was quite happy that someone had already asked this question ... Because of "Hey, it’s already been asked 47 times ... and answered ... so go search! (Not so serious, mostly the hint is justified *g*) But: There is no answer here at all .... So I ask - as a not-yet-house-builder but already plot-owner: Why should I take out builder’s liability insurance already when buying a plot? I could understand a recommendation for landowner’s liability insurance, but what am I as a builder supposed to be liable for if I’m not even building? Curious greetings

It is best to take out a fire shell insurance at the same time, because with a building insurance against fire, water, storm, elemental damage, up to 50% of the annual premium can be saved, that's how I did it with Allianz back then.

Best regards, Matze

One more addition,
above all, you should make sure that in the event of damage, the costs for the decontamination of the property are not deducted from the insured amount. This is still the case with Sparkasse in part.

Huh, who blocked me / can’t read me when and where?

Sorry, not you, the original poster
