Dear forum members,

we are currently in the process of converting the attic into living space.

The current question we have is which (good and effective) impact sound insulation is necessary.
Regarding the construction of the attic floor (viewed from bottom to top):

[*]Wood beam ceiling with intermediate insulation of (old) approx. 12cm mineral wool (we have not replaced this compared to the actual roof)
[*]"Strong Board" ESB panels with 22mm (were screwed down. The floor was leveled beforehand to make it even)
[*]Priming of the ESB panels will start tomorrow.. (a primer was recommended by Uponor)
[*]Subsequently, floor heating from Uponor "Siccus mini" (dry construction system) with panels made of XPS 400 and a fully integrated aluminum heat conduction layer
    [*]Laying of edge insulation strips
[*]After pipe installation (9.9 x 1.1mm), a foil "Uponor Multi". According to the manufacturer, parquet flooring can then be installed immediately
[*]"Final covering": prefinished parquet with a thickness of approx. 10mm (floating installation)

Our question concerns impact sound insulation...

According to parquet manufacturers (we will have the company Meister install it), an impact sound insulation of e.g. 3mm (Silence Eco) or alternatively foam foil or cork should still be laid on the PE foil from Uponor?
According to the installation video from Uponor, however, the parquet floor can be installed immediately without additional !! sound insulation.

We look forward to tips and help and already thank you for the support!

With a "heel striker" you can do whatever you want, it will be loud.
Furthermore: Discuss with the master craftsman - ultimately, not only the technical setup is important, but also the implementation, and it is always good to move within the master's system. If that is not enough for you, take the reference route: Use the most modern top technology and a master craftsman who is enthusiastic about it and offer yourself as a reference (master craftsman can later refer interested parties). The execution will be particularly meticulous. In the 6 years we have lived here, we had two interested parties for a timber construction, one interested party for the glass folding system, and three interested parties for the solar tiles. No one has come for other special details yet. They don't come in annoying numbers, but the implementation is top. Win-win.
