Nope - that would mean that you can only have nice things with money; that is definitely not the case. Money alone does not create taste, it can even prevent it.
Develop ideas, break free from familiar things, clarify individual needs, allow actual usefulness/necessity as a regulator, free yourself from comparisons/competitive thinking, build/design something yourself......
Maybe you don’t have to have every single thing!

I think it also has to do with the homeownership mentality. I lived in a rented house for 10 years and often let things slide, always following the motto "when I finally have my own house, I'll do it properly..." Now that we are about to move into our own house, I'm stressing myself out because I feel like everything has to be perfect right from the move-in.

I think the same... I tell myself, if I don’t do certain things from the beginning, I might never do them out of convenience. What you have, you have...

Are the things you don't do right at the beginning really important?

Here, simply another kitchen unit is planned, which was then installed in the utility room.

The last picture was taken just now...

That’s quite a good idea. It’s not as appealing to take care of the utility room as it is to care for other rooms. I believe it’s not so much about the design here, but actually more about processes that determine how comfortable living is. If you keep that in mind, you should definitely plan for it. A lot of everyday frustration can be avoided this way. However, I plan to use the existing Expedit initially and, if I don’t like it someday, replace it with something more high-quality in the same place.
