Ikea name sought for the CD storage box

Hello dear Ikeans,

I have been accompanied by Ikea furniture and small parts throughout my life for three decades. This is exactly where I now have a problem. There used to be CD storage boxes (2 drawers stacked, or 3 for cassettes) made of milky-transparent plastic, at least in the colors blue, orange, and white. I would like to buy the white version again (2 pieces) or, if necessary, swap two blue ones for two white ones, but I can't find the name and searches (Ebay) always lead me to newer or different products. I estimate that the parts are about 10 years old. It would be nice if someone could help me with the name or even with the stackable boxes (about 17cm wide and 34 cm high).

Thank you for the first response. I still hope that I can at least initially find someone who has access to old catalogs and through whom I can get the name of the CD storage box. Unfortunately, the current products at Ikea do not fit into the shelving system. Regards Zappa

I was leafing through my old IKEA catalogs and found the parts you described under the name – I hope you’re sitting down – "BOX"!!!
In the 1998 catalog, I found a CD box made of polypropylene for 48 CDs, for 25 DM at the time.
Then there was also a diskette/music cassette box for 225 computer diskettes or 54 music cassettes, each for 27 DM.
A drawer unit for 22 DM and a magazine holder for 15 DM rounded off the range. ;)
As for colors, only milky-transparent, green, and blue can be seen. 2- and 3-box sets, as you described, can really only be these. Unfortunately, exact measurements are not given – strange, because IKEA is actually known for always providing the dimensions.
I hope I was able to help you and wish you the right touch of luck with the various possible sellers.
Maybe someone will get in touch here now that we know what the parts are called!

P.S. I would be interested to know how well the boxes have held up over the years, are the colors still the same?

thank you very much for your info. I have already searched several times for "Box," but haven’t found anything yet. It’s probably too small for an ad, but I keep checking now and then.

Regarding your question. The white parts have only acquired a very slight, quite acceptable "yellow" so far. Especially compared to other devices we have in the house, which didn’t cost just a few DMs. Therefore, a recommendation. However, they have the small disadvantage that the drawers can be easily pulled out and then have to be maneuvered back in somewhat awkwardly.

On the other hand, for me they have the invaluable advantage that they fit like a glove as a double pack into a shelf system (wood black - glass, in this case not Ikea) that I bought once years ago.

So thanks again. I will keep looking.....
