Hello everyone,

I want to plan a 88-91cm high Metod kitchen. But I am only 155 cm (currently using a 107 cm oldschool kitchen, it is shameful). Is it possible to use the Metod base cabinets without legs (our floor is perfectly even)? Then with a 2.8cm countertop it would be 91 cm high.

Thanks (and sorry for my un-German)

hello cattank, there are also base cabinets in 60cm height. I would not place the carcasses directly on the floor. In a room where water can easily leak, the bottom of the carcass will swell very quickly, then you can soon throw away the carcasses and it starts to smell. dishwashers in 60/68cm height are only modular for built-in installation (as far as I know). regards robi

I can't really believe in a "perfectly level floor" .... If you don’t have a base underneath at all, you will always hit the doors or drawers with your toes. For installing a hob, the 2.8 cm countertop might be too low if the oven is supposed to go underneath. Or simply build a base from panel strips and screw the furniture on top. But if you can live with 91 cm, the calculation is very simple (yours somehow doesn’t seem to be correct): turn down the feet, carcass, normal countertop: 7 80 4=91 Regards Wolfgang

Good morning,

We are almost finished with our Ikea Metod kitchen in white high gloss. Only the small details remain )

We decided against legs and instead chose wooden slats.. Because with the cabinet height, underlighting, and countertop, we were not exactly allowed to grow in height unrestrictedly.

It worked very well.. The privacy screen as a baseboard still needs to be installed. Maybe we will use Dibond.

I wouldn’t choose a 60 cm cabinet for space reasons... Significantly less fits in.

If you put the cabinet directly on the floor, the drawer.. Or cabinet door front .. could scrape.. Especially with a certain plinth... Your toes are also protected.

Have a great day, High gloss
