Ikea Melodi lamp height adjustable

Hello everyone,

we would like to install the Melodi lamp over our kitchen bar.

However, it should be height-adjustable. Unfortunately, it is not.

Has anyone found an alternative or a way to possibly trick this?

You could replace the Ikea socket with a pull cord pendant lamp, for example.

However, we find these spiral torsion pendulums quite awful :(

Therefore, we were hoping for another option.....

There are also constructions with counterweights and pulleys, where no spiral cable is needed ... but these are generally sold as complete pendant lamps.
