oh yes, I really need help... has anyone ever assembled the sofa knopparp and can give me a tip? I would be very grateful! I already complained about the whole thing at Ikea weeks ago, today they sent me a replacement sofa, which has exactly the same problem. so I am somewhat doubting whether there is not a solution that I don't see...?

I assembled the sofa up to the instruction step (see photo), then I couldn't go any further. because as you can see in the instructions below, I would have to turn the bar 180° to ensure the stability of the seat surface, and then screw it on.

but on the bar delivered to me, the fabric seems to be stapled incorrectly (see photo). I would have to turn it 360° so that the pre-punched square and the hole fit into the bracket. if I do that, however, the seat surface is pulled forward by a crucial 10 cm, and as a result I cannot fix it to the rear bracket, not even with brute force. it just doesn't work, the fabric is then too short.

I have really thought back and forth, maybe I do have a board in front of my head?!

I also can't just turn the whole thing around, because then the zipper for attaching the cover and the rear mounting bar would be on the wrong side. the fabric is also specially marked with these two circles so that you don't put it on the wrong way around (seat surface as back surface). so basically it should be right for me.

Hello, if no one here has set it up themselves, maybe the problem can be identified with more pictures, not just close-up shots.

hi, i am trying again to explain it compactly using a picture:

as you can see in the instructions, i should now turn the rod 180° clockwise so that the fabric is taut. the square is then at the bottom so that it fits into the specified holder.

the problem, as you can see in the photo: the pre-punched square and hole on my rod are reversed compared to the instructions. i would have to turn the rod 360° for the square to be at the bottom. not turning it is not an option, as the fabric would not be taut and the seating surface would not be stable. however, with the 360° turn, about 10 cm are missing at the back, and the fabric cannot be attached to the rear holder...

i also did not confuse the seat and back surface, as the backrest is significantly shorter. in that case, the fabric would definitely not be long enough.

please tell me that this is understandable

In the first of the three pictures it is the same as in the original, only in the second it looks different. It is not about understanding the problem itself, but about recognizing an assembly error, which is only possible if you can see everything.

I have exactly the same problem. Have you found a solution in the meantime?
