Ikea HEMNES illuminated display cabinet

Hello everyone,

here is a little inspiration: illuminated Hemnes display cabinet with 3 drawers in the color black-brown. About a year ago, we bought this beautiful display cabinet. It was a sore point for me that it unfortunately has no interior lighting. I put an end to that with DIODER light strips. You can see the result in the pictures.

There are 2 light strips installed per level. I milled the recess for the strips with a router. The cables are routed out to the back through a channel (which I drilled) to the rear panel. On the back, the rest of the wiring is located.

Required materials:
1 x HEMNES display cabinet with 3 drawers
2 x DIODER white light strip
1 x paint (RAL 060 20 05) for the milled surfaces

Hello, looks nice. I'm still not quite clear about the channel for the cable. Did you drill a deep hole in the board for it? Diameter?

Yes, correct. I wanted to avoid having the cables visible in the display case. I am currently unsure whether the diameter was 7 or 8 mm. In any case, large enough for the small connector plug of the light strip to fit through.
