Hello everyone,

I’m new here and have a question right away.

I have an extension. The old building is brick and the new building is plastered in RAL1015.

Somehow I don’t really like it. Does anyone have ideas on how to make it more attractive?

I have already thought about sticking on facing bricks, but the brick is so old (35 years).

Regards

Michael

The photos are not really very expressive.. But one idea that always works would be to paint the extension in a very dark grey (almost black). Right now it practically "glows" in this light shade. A dark facade visually makes the extension "disappear". Then a few taller plants around it and from a distance the impression is created that there is only the brick building. But be careful, if there is thick polystyrene insulation underneath, dark colors can potentially be a problem (keyword: [Hellbezugswert]) Best regards Steffi.

I often find it appealing when old buildings and extensions visually differ from each other. The extension here looks fairly "conservative" and also seems large in relation to the old building. We would either cover the extension with climbing plants or clad it in wood. At the window of the old building, which is very close to the new building wall, this would lead to some loss of light.

Honestly? - your house doesn’t seem completely unfamiliar to me, could it have appeared in the green forum last year?

I would simply paint it bright white. The eggshell yellow looks a bit dull.

yes, the combination is not very fortunate. The Waigel eyebrows (slate) above are also special. I don't think white would be it for that reason either. Maybe something more striking.
