Hi,

we are looking for tips or suggestions for the ceiling light in the bathroom. The bathroom planner has included a suspended ceiling with recessed spotlights in the visualization. We don’t want that, among other things because we don’t want to "give up" our ceiling height of 275cm. Of course, we can define additional ceiling light points for the electrician in the electrical plan. What would you do? For example, I had seen a bathroom light from a well-known provider of smart lighting systems where you can practically switch between warm and cold white light.

Best regards
Maria

There are countless possibilities - but why are you fighting for a maximum of 10 cm less height in such a small room? With super flat spots, even 5 cm is enough. The room could even benefit from a slightly lower ceiling so that it doesn't look like a shaft. With ceiling lamps, the room can even appear lower than with the spots.

A simple ceiling fireplace or spotlights are also nothing special. But that was not what was asked.

I understand that 100%! I think of the lighting in two categories besides the appearance of the fixtures:
[*]Functional light (illumination, light at the mirror, light for cleaning) [*]Ambient light (well-being, aesthetics)
Surely there are fixtures with changing light color or dim to warm function – besides the light color, other criteria are also important for good lighting. I would distribute the light points on the ceiling to fulfill the functionality, additionally taking the mirror into account. The light points for ambient light could possibly be placed more on the wall, e.g., indirect lighting.

A little off-topic: if you additionally place ambient lighting, do you control it with the same switch or do you have it separate? And if separate, do you also have separate ambient light control for each part in a living/dining area? Do you also use them separately or does the switch always turn both on? Do you place the switches next to each other? Then eventually you have six light switches when you enter the room, right?
