Hello everyone,

I had to register now because unfortunately I couldn't find anything about the "EisHeizung." Correct me if there already is such a topic.

I am currently considering which heating system we will install in our house and came across the EisHeizung. I have researched a lot on the internet, had a consultation yesterday, etc., but I would be interested to know what the forum users think about EisHeizungen, also about climate ceilings, and if anyone has experience with them?

Regarding the climate ceiling, I would like to add that I would like a walkable, greened flat roof – does that have an impact on such a climate ceiling, or will the roof be sealed anyway so that no heat loss occurs?

Thank you very much in advance :D,

Alex

Good day, I had the opportunity to examine an ice heating system from Consolar in real operation. The advantage was that it only has about a 300 l ice storage, as opposed to the ISOCAL, which needs a tank under the garage, in the garden or cellar, and around 10,000 cbm to 20,000 cbm of water to heat a single-family house. The crux with both is, on the one hand, the acquisition costs as well as the operating costs for the electricity of the heat pump and the price of the heat pump itself, since no one can say how long such a pump reliably performs its service. In the new building, the Consolar ice heating system only needed 1,500 kW/year because the house was new and equipped with underfloor heating. For heating systems that require higher flow temperatures than 50 °C, the technology is not reasonable. Calculate about 1 kWh of electricity for 4-5 kWh of heating performance, then you can roughly estimate the demand. With a heat requirement of 16,000 kWh (which is about 1,700 cbm of gas/oil), that is then 3,500 to 4,000 kWh of electricity. Electricity for heat pumps is generally still offered at a reduced price. But no one can say whether that will remain so. I believe the technology has a future. But at the moment only with low energy demand and reduced electricity costs. If in the future we can produce and store our own electricity inexpensively, it will really be an option.

But I also think that is something for the future. However, it makes sense to operate it with a solar system, that is, to generate your own electricity. The acquisition costs are still too high, and everything has to be calculated first.

I think such a climate blanket is really good. Especially when the sun comes out, it gives a pleasant feeling. The purchase costs are still too high. But for the future, it is a good alternative.

That is really a good thing, such an ice heating system. But at the moment the price is still too high for me. However, that may change in the coming years and then I will be in.

Be careful with ice storage heat pumps. The concept is impressive and does work. However, it requires an absolutely serious and solid design of the entire system and a precise coordination of heat pump capacity, ice storage volume, and collector capacity in connection with the geographical location of the house (fog, snow, etc.). Only let a heat pump professional handle this, otherwise the project will be shipwrecked in the drifting ice floes.
