Hello everyone!

We have now been living in our new house for 14 months and are very satisfied. There is always a lot to do, both inside and outside. However, we have been concerned for some time about the humidity in the house. We had a prefabricated house built with a timber frame construction, KFW 55. We also heat with an air-water heat pump from Tecalor with a ventilation system including heat recovery. The humidity has now dropped below 20% in winter. As far as we know, the humidity should be between 40% and 60%, if only for the sake of the mucous membranes, etc. We cannot adjust anything further on the air-water heat pump, according to the technician. Is our only option now to install a room humidifier, or does anyone have other ideas?

Best regards,
SaRo

We ourselves also suffer from the low humidity.

Our air humidity is also quite low, and we notice it on our mucous membranes. But we get used to it seasonally. Better than a runny nose. I don't know if a humidifier is the right thing, but why not? Just try it with a fountain.

Low humidity is quite normal in modern houses, but you could also check if the airflow of the [Kontrollierte-Wohnraumlüftung] can be reduced a bit and possibly you only have a simple plate heat exchanger which could be replaced by an enthalpy heat exchanger. That would also bring quite a bit.
