Hello everyone!
I plan to build a house soon!
But we still don’t really know the best and cheapest way to build! We have already inquired at the bank and would get a loan of about [120000€]. So quite little for house + land! Therefore, it is important for us to build as cheaply as possible.
Is it cheaper to do everything completely by ourselves, like hiring companies ourselves, or rather hire an architect who organizes everything? Or maybe have it made from prefabricated parts?
Thanks a lot in advance!

Hello papi10,

the loan is one thing, the other is the equity that you have saved up over the past years, whether it be a savings account, building savings contract, etc.

Basically, one can say: personal contribution makes sense if a) you have the craftsmanship skills and b) the time (and that is usually much more than one initially assumes) available.
On the other hand, there is the question of who takes over the warranty? If you take care of everything yourself, you also have to make sure that all individual trades work hand in hand.
We built almost turnkey and would always do it that way because then we only have one contact person regarding warranty services.

Best regards
