How to remove HTB 40 pipe?

Hi everyone,

the previous owners of our house had their sink further away from the drain in the kitchen. That's why they moved the drain themselves downwards (just above the floor) to create a slope.

As you can hopefully see in the pictures, the drain pipe (HTB 40) is inserted into another pipe in the floor.

Since we would like to place our sink cabinet exactly in this position in the future, I want to "reroute" the drain back upwards.

My current problem: the HTB 40 pipe is firmly stuck in the pipe in the floor.

Question: do you have any ideas how I can "pull out" the HTB 40 pipe or otherwise get it out without damaging the pipe it is inserted into?

I hope for some good tips, thanks!

You need a lever and a block of wood or similar to put underneath. Then simply use the lever principle.

Thanks for the tip! Sounds good at first, I had already considered that. I was just not sure because of my lack of experience whether the pipe is just slipped on or if it possibly has a thread.

I’ll try your tip (tomorrow), just hope the lower pipe can handle it.

No HT pipes have threads. Only for the inspection openings, but that is not the case here.

It may also have been glued... you can pry until the pipe gives way. In the worst case, saw deeper and insert a new pipe.

The arch was probably glued in. The pipe under the arch could be KA pipe (light) which, unlike the usual Ht pipes, can be glued. You will probably have to carefully but very carefully chisel it out. The KA pipe is brittle. Ht — red stripe not glueable Ht — yellow stripe glueable. Both are dark gray. KA — light gray.
