Hello everyone,
We would like to buy a new sofa now, almost a year after moving into the new house. We currently still have an Ikea sofa, but that should then go to the basement.
We would like a U or L shape and have already been to several furniture stores. The budget is max. 4000 euros, which is certainly not much for such a sofa, but you can get something for that. In most furniture stores, you find the same, mostly Poli.. or Stein... So manufacturers who have their products made in Poland, which I think is okay. Online reviews are often mixed, but the furniture stores are not self-service markets, so I hope they carry quality goods.
Our problem now is the room geometry. I have made a sketch in the attachment. The problem is that one leg of the U or L would be on the window front, and there is also the radiator there. So I don't know how practical that is. The radiator should not be covered. Then there would be the question of how big the distance to it would have to be. We have now found a sofa that on the side where the window would be has a chaise longue; that would only cover a small part of the radiator and mainly the lower area because it is not that high.
It would be 3 m long on the wall side. The wall itself is 4 m to the fireplace. If we want to install a wood-burning stove someday, it will be tight. Then it would have to stand at most to the side.
Do you have any idea if this could work like that?
I have roughly drawn the sofa as well (sorry, a bit confusing).
