Hello,

we are looking for ways to design our light well. The distance from the exterior wall to the property boundary is 4m. Therefore, we want to preserve as much space as possible, but of course the window should also be built into it.

What options do you see here? L-blocks? Gabions? Would the latter withstand the pressure at a height of 1.5m? Possibly install a step?

Many thanks for your input.

recently seen, built with bricks, railing, fall protection grid, that looked very rustic and expensive

Would a wall with poured formwork stones be possible? Up to what height would such a wall be feasible due to earth pressure?

No one can reliably tell you that without knowledge of the soil. As soon as there is water in the soil, the conditions change. What would you like to see? That would be my first point of reference.

Dams are very high, and when pressing water is added (own downpipe, clay soil, heavy rain) a permanent problem

There is no water in the soil. Even after weeks of rain this summer, there were not even puddles in the excavation pit. The insurability is very good.

What do I want to see when I look out of the window? Hard to say. Preferably an area that does not look totally splattered and dirty after the first rain shower. It should not be granite blocks either.
