Hello everyone.

How can I best seal the gap between the wall and the ventilation pipe as airtight as possible?
The first thing that comes to mind is foam. But then the pipes are permanently fixed.
Are there special solutions for something like this? An expanding tape that you press into the gap, or can you tape over the gap? Basically over the pipe and the wall?
You can feel a draft through the hole. You only notice it if you hold your hand directly in front of it. I think it comes from the cavity behind the brick.

The back of the hole leads into our garage. There I sealed everything with acrylic and painted over it.
However, there the ventilation pipe abuts the wall. There was no gap like in the utility room.

Hello,

A compressible sealing tape of course works if you are skillful enough. Usually, penetrations are sealed this way. It would also have made sense to apply it outside before the acrylic. However, you can't really press a compressible sealing tape in well; it should already be sticking on the pipe and then expand. Alternatively, you can use a round cord that is wide enough to fill the gap well and then seal and paint it on the inside.
You can also inject cartridge sealant into the gap and then additionally work with a round cord and an acrylic joint for the appearance and paint it.

By the way, if there is a draft, doesn't rainwater get in? Or what is the situation outside?
In that case, I would address the outer sealing with compressible sealing tape again.

Best regards

On the back side, it looks different. I have attached another picture for that. The back side is also in our garage. The pipes then run a bit through the garage and then to the outside there. On the garage side, the foam pipes meet the wall. The gap there was roughly closed by the installer with foam. I cut the foam flush and then smoothed over and brushed on with acrylic.

I can't say exactly where or why there is a draft. Either it really comes through the garage or it comes through the cavity behind the brick and in front of the insulation.

I have already thought about compression tape. The gap ranges from 1.5 cm to a few millimeters. However, the pipe can be shifted a bit. Maybe I can get it in there. It doesn’t necessarily have to be glued. That wouldn't be the case on the wall either if I stick the tape on the pipe on one side.

The round cord is also a good idea. I will take a look at that. I probably can’t get it done cleanly with foam anymore. The foam would have had to be injected directly during the shell construction.

I would push loose insulation wool into the cavity and seal the frontmost cavity with acrylic.
