Hello,

our new bathroom does not offer much room in terms of size, so I came across acrylic tubs. Unfortunately, no current information on user experience, satisfaction level, quality characteristics (stability, surface quality), service behavior, etc. can be found.

Who has experience with the use or installation of acrylic tubs?

Besides dimensions, shape, price, availability of accessories: Which additional decision parameters should I consider to decide for or against a particular manufacturer?

Thanks in advance

Acrylic tubs generally have more disadvantages than steel enamel tubs in my opinion. They do not retain heat like enamel and the surface becomes dull after a while. On the other hand, there are more shapes available, and they are lighter.

It is also a bit a matter of taste. For example, I don't like how steel enamel feels. We had a tub from xyz in the rental apartment and I like acrylic much more.

Can anyone say something about the processing and quality of acrylic tubs? Are the tubs any good?

We take a.. bathtub carrier as insulation and that's it. And the water stays warm too.

Hello.
: Your post surprises me, in my opinion acrylic bathtubs retain heat much better?? They have a lower density, which is why they also feel warm when you touch them. That the bath water doesn't cool down as quickly was actually an argument FOR the acrylic bathtub for me. (Not ordered yet.)

They do feel warmer, yes! But enamel takes on the temperature of the water faster and stores it.
Acrylic tubs always need the polystyrene insulation for heat retention. So the comparatively low price of the acrylic tub is relativized against the steel tub, which is always more expensive as standard.
