The chimney sweep comes every year and does his measurements. Basic things are checked there. In my opinion, you don't need a maintenance contract. The modern devices monitor themselves continuously. If there is something serious, this system will already report it. That's how I see it. Well, and certain things are replaced or done from time to time. I just see regular maintenance as unnecessary. Especially because in modern houses these systems reach comparatively few operating hours.

Condensing boilers are generally inspected by the chimney sweep every 2 years, except if they have a self-calibrating control of the combustion process, then it would be only every 3 years.
In addition, there is the 3.5-year fireplace inspection.

I strongly recommend a maintenance contract, which is essential with most well-known heating manufacturers if you want to maintain your warranty for the heating device.

After the warranty period expires (5-10 years depending on the manufacturer and type of heating, the information about the duration of the warranty can be found in the manual of the respective heating system or on the manufacturer's website), I recommend a maintenance interval of 2 years.

Better safe than sorry, because...
There is nothing more annoying than carbon monoxide poisoning or a breakdown during the winter months.

We replaced our gas heating system three years ago and have now had it serviced for the first time. The expert said that every 2-3 years would also be sufficient in the future. The maintenance cost 280 euros. This at least financially relativizes the savings from a new system.
