How much basement insulation?

How much insulation is necessary for the basement floor to insulate it properly? My house supplier insulates the basement walls and the floor slab with 10 cm. Does increasing the insulation thickness actually help?

for basement insulation (Perimeterdämmung) with XPS, insulation thicknesses from twelve to 30 centimeters are sufficient to meet the requirements of the Energieeinsparverordnung (Energieeinsparverordnung) as well as the Passivhaus standard. The exact design always depends, of course, on the local conditions of the building ground. In addition to the good thermal insulation value, the XPS insulation boards are also resistant to moisture thanks to their closed-cell structure and particularly pressure-stable. They can therefore be used even with pressing groundwater and fulfill their full function over many decades.

That always depends on the intended use, and whether it is heated or unheated! The Energy Saving Ordinance (verification) says hello. ;)
