How good are combination systems: heat pump, solar system, and energy storage?

How efficient are combination systems of heat pumps, solar systems, and electricity storage actually? Do they really bring all the theoretical advantages attributed to them?

A heat pump uses the natural environment to generate energy, a solar system produces electricity from sunlight, and an electricity storage system can store excess energy. Together, they could contribute to reducing energy costs and lowering CO₂ emissions. How reliable are these systems and is the investment worthwhile in the long term?

All-in one does not exist. What you describe is basically the kfw 40-plus house (with appropriate insulation).

Conversely: you need a heating system (heat pump). Photovoltaic systems are increasingly becoming mandatory for new buildings; now you can only consider whether a photovoltaic storage system makes sense or not. Since the prices for these have almost plummeted, it will be a calculation for your personal consumption.

Everything depends on a) the insulation standard of your house b) the purchase price for the whole thing.

And of course on the development of energy prices. Presumably, they will not get any cheaper.

You forgot c): your personal preferences. We have the described combination in a typical semi-detached house from the late 90s and are very satisfied with it. However: we have it combined with a fourth component, namely the off-grid functionality (aka "emergency power"), which has only been used twice so far, but pleased us both times.
