Our house is almost finished. We haven't given any thought to the lamps yet. So the positions of the lamps are, of course, fixed, as well as the type of switches (dimmable or not).

But are there companies that might come out and look at the premises to make suggestions about which lamps would be suitable here? It's not about the appearance of the lamps but about the function. For example, that certain corners are well lit or the lamp above the dining table still looks good when the table is extended. It should also be cozy and not like an operating room light.

How did you handle this?

Basically, you can hire a lighting planner/light architect. But they plan the locations rather than the bulb itself. And the prices for this are similar to interior designers. So we actually choose the old-fashioned way ourselves. It's a crazy feeling to develop a museum independently and furnish your own little house (sarcasm off)

Correct - like architects, just more expensive. :)

Yes, there are. As previous speakers have already mentioned, they are called: lighting designers, interior architects, lighting architects, etc. etc.

Very good (and very expensive) specialist shops also work with lighting planners. But that quickly becomes five figures for a house. If I were RICH!, I would also give the Occhio team a key and say "go ahead".

Then you've basically blown the planning already. And if it's not a 400 sqm villa, you can save yourself these extra costs anyway.
