Not in the immediate vicinity.
The Ehestorfer Weg is very long, and I also believe that different development plans apply there. East of the Grotelerweg there is no backland development.

Edit: I am personally familiar with the Ehestorfer Weg.

And as far as the preliminary design is concerned - there are also creative female architects in Hamburg and the surrounding area. Of course, it is a challenge - it should be, at least for the planners, but at the end of the day an interesting architecture will have emerged, something not commonly seen.

Go personally to the BA, treat the people there as you would expect to be treated by others, and you will find that they will help you ... as long as your wish is feasible.

I also think that some sensible things can come out of it. The question is only whether an architect is allowed to "go wild" there. At least I hope so..

that is a good and important point. At least I would do something to make sure the crane can go up at the back. Because I would have the garage demolished.

I agree with you. However, I don’t know if the development in the second row applies to the whole street. At least 3-4 houses down the street there is a house in the second row, I can say that for sure.

I will go to the building authority on Monday or Tuesday and hope that I will be helped.

The development plan for the relevant area matches the backyard development – there is nothing except outbuildings. In the area where backyard development stands, a different development plan applies. There are 10 (!) different development plans along the street alone, which can be easily accessed via the City of Hamburg’s portal:

So I just checked again. 2 houses in the immediate vicinity (2-3 houses next door) actually have houses as rear development. I hope that I can argue this way with the [BA].

Admittedly: have no idea!

Would it be conceivable to build directly onto the existing building? Then part of the building services could possibly be reused?

Would that also count as rear development?
