But: As long as you don't know what you're doing, the consequences can be severe in both activities.

And here people are just speaking out of turn - do you want to be (morally) responsible for an accident? What some people say here, how they want to fix partly static things with the DIY method, even as a self-taught building layman you can only shake your head.

I would just be careful with some tips...

I wouldn't do everything myself or recommend it either. However, for example, electrical work has to be inspected anyway, so I don't see any risk here where you can hardly do anything wrong.

First of all: What does such an acceptance consist of? Which criteria does this acceptance check? And: I know cases where nothing was accepted... and yet the electricity is there and flowing.

Normally, I believe each terminal point should be checked.

At how many of those has it come to major problems?

At none - that should only mean that one should not rely on it. And even in the case of an inspection, usually not a whole house is checked - depending on mood & person.

But then the master electrician signs, and if something happens, he is responsible. And don’t come now with the house burning down because of it or someone dying from an electric shock... That someone falls off the ladder while painting and breaks their neck is 1000 times more likely...
