Hello everyone,

we bought a house a few months ago and now the seller is not paying his notary fees. The notary has threatened that he will now collect these outstanding costs from us (buyers), as according to the notary contract we are jointly liable...

Does anyone of you know this problem? It can't be that the seller simply doesn't pay his bills and we as buyers are left empty-handed because we get stuck with the outstanding costs.

Thank you all.

Best regards

Hello,

Sorry, I don't understand ... why does the house seller have to pay his share of the notary fees in your case?

Possibly it is about the cancellation of the mortgage or the instruction by the notary?

Yes exactly, that’s what it’s about. These are costs that the seller must bear. We have already paid our costs on time!
