And I find such a Bora field quite expensive and also know of 2 cases where expensive induction cooktops cracked (pot fell on them).

It's not like the entire induction cooktop would be broken. Checked for a Siemens cooktop with integrated downward extractor: €350 for a new glass-ceramic surface plus installation.
